At The Home Doctor, we believe that taking care of a home extends beyond walls and roofs—it includes caring for the community we call home. That’s why we kicked off the year with a commitment to giving back, launching a January Food Drive to support AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center). Thanks to the generosity of our team and customers, we proudly donated 178 pounds of food to help families in need.
At The Home Doctor, our mission is to “Protect the Health of Your Home.” But that mission doesn’t stop at home improvement—it extends to ensuring our community thrives. We understand that a strong, healthy community is built on the well-being of its people, which is why we regularly engage in initiatives that give back.
AFAC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing supplemental groceries to thousands of families experiencing food insecurity in the Arlington area. Their mission resonated with us, and we knew we wanted to make a meaningful contribution to help support local families struggling to put food on the table.
Throughout January, our employees and customers came together to donate non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and other essentials. Our office became a hub of generosity, as donation bins quickly filled with contributions from our dedicated team members and customers who were eager to help make a difference.
The highlight of this initiative was the drop-off event at AFAC, where our CEO met with an AFAC representative to officially deliver the donation. In a short message, he emphasized The Home Doctor’s dedication to not only protecting homes but also protecting the well-being of the community: “Not only does The Home Doctor protect the health of your home, we protect the health of the community.”
With 178 pounds of food donated, our collective effort will go a long way in helping AFAC provide nutritious meals to families who need them most. This contribution is part of our broader commitment to making a positive difference in the communities we serve.
But our work doesn’t stop here! We are excited to continue participating in local initiatives, and we encourage everyone to find ways to give back—whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness about food insecurity.
